DAVIS Claude N. Davis, 86, passed away on April 7, 2008. Born in Sanderson, FL to John and Maude Davis, Mr. Davis served in the US Army during World War II in the Combat Engineers. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and served in Germany, France, England and Belgium. Mr. Davis was a Plant Engineer in the Jacksonville Ship Yards and enjoyed fishing, bowling, hunting, gardening and woodwork. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Jewel P. Davis of Hawthorne, FL; son, Claude Edward Davis and wife Janice of St. Augustine, FL; stepdaughter, Kathleen Gambrell of Belleview, FL; step-son, John Gambrell of Greenville, SC; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 1:00 PM at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME HAWTHORNE, 301 S. at Lake Avenue, with Chaplain Tom Miller officiating.
