Obituary of Clarissa-Mae Carter

<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Dec. 16, 1939 - June 27, 2014 Clarissa "Criss" Mae (Murphy) Carter, 73, of Vancleave, MS, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014 in Corvallis, Oregon. Criss was born on December 16, 1939 in Pascagoula, MS to the late John Watkins and Anna Ruth Murphy. She enjoyed her time gardening, painting and traveling, and will be remembered for her love, humor, and kindness. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Murphy. She is survived by her children, Kelly (Dr. Forrest) Wells, Wendy (Bryan) Green and Steven Carter; grandchildren, Anna Pendleton, Jeb Wells, Josh Wells, Emily Green, Patrick Green, Carter Green and John Michael Green; and siblings, Dr. John (Marilyn) Murphy, Aileen Russell, Robert Murphy, George (Mary) Murphy, Joy (Dr. Ben) Kitchens and Clinton (Sherry) Murphy; along with other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 4, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Vancleave. The funeral will begin at the church at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. James Miller and Rev. Mark Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Vancleave Cemetery 1 with Dr. Forrest Wells, Bryan Green, Ronnie Pierce, Clifford Murphy, Tommy Williams and Byron Pierce serving as pallbearers.
