Obituary of Clara-Marie Carter


Funeral services will at 1 p.m. Saturday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Clara Marie "Granny Ree" Carter, 82, Ohatchee, who died Thursday, April 19, 2007. The Revs. Allen Murphy and Tommy Hayes will officiate. Burial in Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Service directing.Mrs. Carter was a native of Boaz and a resident of Caldwell community most of her life. She was loved by all and Granny Ree to many who knew her. Mrs. Carter was a member of Mamre Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Edward Carter.She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Ann Carter; sons, Steven (Jerria) Carter, Tim (Melody) Carter; grandchildren, Eric (Nikki) Carter Nic (Jennifer) Carter, Josh (Helen) Carter; chosen grandson, Heath Jennings; two granddaughters, April (Vince) Kreaul and Whitney Carter; three great-grandchildren, Olivia Grace Carter, Adison Claire Carter and Briley Clint Carter; special sister-in-law, Mary Paula Hydeman; and several special nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be grandsons and Jeff Cowart and Jason Heathcock.Special thanks to Gadsden Healthcare and Rehab Center for the special love and care shown to our Mom during her stay. Special thanks to the staff of 800 and 200 halls.The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home.
