Clara Mae Jones 1934 - 2007 - SAVANNAH - Clara Mae Jones, 73, died Monday August 20, 2007 at Memorial Health University Medical Center. The Chatham County native was educated in the public schools of Savannah and worked as a Nurse's Aide. She lived in Jamaica, NY for 30 years and returned to Savannah in 2000. She was preceded in death by her parents; Herman and Elois Bacon. She is survived by five daughters; Earline (Edward) Mack, Cynthia Jones, Trudy Jones, all of Savannah, GA Judy Edgar Wingster of Columbus, GA, Claretha (Peter) Haynes of Savannah, one son; Earl Jones, Jr., two sisters; Ruby Pinckney of Jamaica, NY, Eloise (Prince) Delyons of Savannah, one brother; Herman (Rhetta) Bacon of Jamaica, NY, 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two aunts, a special niece; Annie "Geraldine" Bacon, a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday August 24, 2007 at Union Skidaway Baptist Church, Norwood Ave. (Sandfly Community). The Rev. Alan O'Neal, Officiating Interment - Eugenia Cemetery. Mrs. Jones will lie in state at the church 11:00 a.m. Friday until the hour of service. Sidney A.
