Louise Smith, 92, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at her residence in Dawson County.Born Oct. 2, 1919, in Forsyth County to the late Arch and Ola Hughes Bennett, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. Louise was a virtuous woman who loved the Lord and always wanted to tell you about her wonderful friend, Jesus Christ. It was her prayer that everyone she came in contact with knew about the Lord's saving grace. She loved her children and grandchildren with the most unconditional love any person could show. Louise was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Gainesville, Ga. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends she has made over her long life. Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Glenn Smith; son, Paul Smith; sisters and brothers-in-law, Corene and Roy Jenkins, Geneva and Gene Cook; brothers and sisters-in-law, Laina and Gladys Bennett, Lyman and Tommie Bennett.Surviving are her sons and their wives, Lyman and Tommie Smith, Gene and Brenda Smith, Terry and Rita Smith; daughter-in-law, Betty Smith; grandchildren, Sondra Smith, Stoney and Tonya Smith, Rocky and Tammy Smith, Joey and Heather Smith, Matthew and Amanda Smith, Josh and Amy Smith, Vicki and Grady Turner, Scott and Angie Smith, Bucky Smith, Rusty Smith, Randy Smith, Michele and Roger Cherico, Dawn Kinney and Charlie Smith; 26 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Parker, Sara Sheffield; and many other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Lamar Purcell and the Rev. Lamar "Marty" Askew will officiate. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-9 at the funeral home.The family would like to thank the Dawson County Senior Center for making Granny's last years wonderful.
