Clara Hennett Bailey, 83, of 13 Wood St., died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville. A native of Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Julius L. and Mattie Odell Smith Hennett. She was the widow of Ellis Workman Bailey. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, a graduate of Woodruff High School and was retired with Inman Mills Riverdale Plant in Enoree. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Trudy B. and Richard A. Rush of Laurens and Diane B. Bechtold of Greenville; two sisters, Verle Nelson of Enoree and Mozelle Harney of Spartanburg. She is also survived by five grandsons, Richard Todd Rush of Laurens, Jason Allan Rush of Laurens, Jonathan Matthew Rush of Las Vegas, Nev., Michael Ellis Bechtold of Greenville and Joseph Sean Bechtold of Greenville; and a great-granddaughter, Bailey Page Rush of Laurens. Mrs. Bailey was predeceased by five brothers, Julian Hennett, Sam Hennett, Belton Hennett, Ray Hennett and Jack Hennett. Visitation will be held today, Feb. 4, 2002, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lanford Funeral Home in Woodruff. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at 3 p.m. at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Jerry Taylor. The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Richard and Trudy Rush, 212 Bryson Drive, Laurens. Lanford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
