Obituary of Clara-Boggs Williams

<!-- FH = Sandifer Funeral Home -->Clara Boggs WilliamsSenecaClara Boggs Williams, age 92, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2012 at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC after a brief illness. Daughter of the late Oliver D. and Zila E. (Pritchard) Boggs, she was born near Seneca, SC on June 13, 1920. In 1941, she married her childhood sweetheart, the late Elvin A. Williams, with whom she shared 63 years of happiness. After his death in 2004, she maintained her home in Seneca but shared time with her daughter, Nancy, in Charlotte, NC.Clara was a wonderful housewife and mother, who loved caring for others and spending time with the Boggs and Williams families. She was a World Book sales person extraordinaire and was known for many years as the "candy lady" at Harpers 5 & 10 Store. She enjoyed camping with Elvin, rekindling friendships with the 57th Seabee Association, the American Legion Auxiliary, and championship games of Chickenfoot Dominoes. She also loved helping Nancy make and sell photo note cards and participating in the Charlotte Heart Walk. She had a zest for life and a special sweetness. She could light up a room with the twinkle in her eye. She was ever to us Ms. Clara, the consummate Southern Belle. Mrs. Williams was also an avid Clemson fan.Clara was a member of Seneca Baptist Church for over 60 years, participating in Sunday School, circles, Golden Age Club and as a VBS teacher. In Charlotte, she also attended Covenant Presbyterian Church and was enveloped in their love and care. She is survived by daughter, Nancy Williams and son-in-law, Roger Dahnert of Charlotte as well as sister-in-laws, Jessie Boggs (Kingstown, RI), Ginger Boggs (Gainesville, FL), Imogene Gibson (Fair Play, SC), Eleanor Swaney (Rudolph of Seneca, SC), and many loving nieces and nephews.
