He was born on January 14, 1949, the son of the late Harold T. and Elizabeth Learn Washburn. Survived by his sister, Nancy L. ( Edward) Happ; brother, Harold T. Washburn Jr.; also several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Claire was also predeceased by sister, Rita Beth Jacobs. He lived at the Savona IRA Home in Savona, NY for over 25 years. He enjoyed animals and stuffed animals and going out for outings and trips. Family and friends are invited to call at The Seventh Day Adventist Church 813 Maple Avenue, Elmira, NY on Sunday February 2, 2014 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM with Funeral Service there at 2:00 PM.
