TAYLOR _ Christine Linder Christine Linder Taylor, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, formerly of Tulsa, OK, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 82 years. Christine was born to Benjamin Lawton Linder and Blanche Edith Chassereau on September 23, 1921 in Smoakes, South Carolina. Christine graduated from Garfield Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse in 1944 and was accepted into the Army Nurse Corp in 1945 as a Second Lieutenant. She was stationed briefly at Deshon General Hospital in Butler, PA before being assigned to duty overseas. She chose to become a Roman Catholic while en route to the 49th General Hospital in Manila, Philippine Islands and her steadfast faith in the Lord was the underpinning of her entire life. In 1946 she was promoted to First Lieutenant. On a blind date, while stationed in Manila, she met the love of her life, Glen, who she later married in 1947. Christine was a world traveler, having lived in Canada, Egypt, and England before retiring back in Tulsa, OK. Above all, Christine was loving... she always had a big hug and an open lap for her children and her children's children. Watching them grow and develop brought her immense joy and she was proud of each and every one of them. Christine is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Ray, daughter Mary Beth, and granddaughter, Shannon Kathleen Swales. She is survived by her children, Victor and Julie Taylor of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Karen and Stan Swales of Vernon, British Columbia, Margaret Christine and Christopher Dickson of Imperial, Missouri, and James and Rachelle Taylor of Wixom, Michigan. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, Miranda, Kelli and Glendon Taylor, Christopher, Colin and Kevin Swales, Shannon and Ryan Dickson, and Andrew and Isabel Taylor as well as her dear sister, Alanaise Roach of Morristown, N.J. and brother Ralph Linder of Las Vegas, NV. Visitation will be all day Sunday, 8:00 a.m. til 9:00 p.m.; Monday, 8:00 a.m. til 3:00 p.m. at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, Tulsa, OK. A Rosary Service will be held on Monday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1347 E. 49th Place, Tulsa, OK. A celebration of Christine's life in the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Memorial Park Family Center. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
