Christine (Lambert) Rice-Smith, 73, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. Born July 25, 1935 in Medora, she was the daughter of Hubert and Eva (Lonsberry) Lambert, both of whom preceded her in death. Survivors include two brothers, James Lambert, Vallonia, and Carl Dean Lambert, Medora; four sisters, Mary L. Thixton, Brownstown, Irene Bledsoe, Seymour, Beulah Wheeler, Lexington, and Phyllis Clampitt, Medora; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Joe Rice, and her second husband, Donald W. Smith; a brother, Lymen Lambert; and a sister, Virginia Branaman. Graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Vallonia Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Collins Funeral Home, Scottsburg.
