Christine Miller, born in 1920, daughter of J. B and Bessie-King, died on October 11, 2005 at 85 years old.
Christine B. Harris Miller, 85, of 4 Abelia Drive, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at the home of her daughter. She fought a five-year battle with colon cancer and died of lung cancer. Born in Greenville County on July 9, 1920, she was the daughter of the late J.B. and Bessie King Murrell. She was twice married, first to the late Richard Harris; and second to the late Jesse W. Miller. Mrs. Miller worked for U.S Bobbin and Shuttle for many years until they closed. She also worked for Rental Uniform and was a hostess at Hardees. She was also a member of Dominion Community Church. Surviving are four daughters, Linda Ford and Judy Metcalf, both of Greenville, Martha Hester of Greer, and Donna Strawhorn of Taylors; two sons, Donny Harris of Buford, Ga., and Jesse Miller Jr. of Taylors; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Willard Murrell of Travelers Rest. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Burdette; and two brothers, Haskell and Charles Murrell. Visitation will be held this evening, Oct. 13, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at 306 Wood River Way, Taylors.
