JOHNSON, Christine Kay 41, Palm Harbor, passed away peacefully, on May 28, 2012 at Suncoast Hospice House Brookside in Palm Harbor, from a kidney disease. Chris was born to Janice (Medin) and Thomas Johnson on Oct. 12, 1970 in Rockford, IL. She graduated from Guilford High School in Rockford, IL in 1988. Chris graduated from Illinois State University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design. Chris was a diverse and prolific graphic artist and musician. In 1998 and 2003, she was the winner of the Clearwater Jazz Festival poster competition. In 2008, Chris illustrated the children's book, "Mommy, What's A Manatee?" Chris is survived by her partner, Nancy Weatherhog; her father and step-mother, Thomas & Joanne Johnson of Rockford, IL; brothers, Dave (Liz) Johnson and Brad (Pam) Johnson; step-brothers, Ryan (Carrie) Knoll and Jarrod (Danielle) Knoll. She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice Johnson. A private family service will be held. Memorials can be made to Suncoast Hospice House Brookside at 164 West Lake Road in Palm Harbor, FL 34684.
