BANKS, CHRISTINA MATILDA (WOOD) The passing of Christina Matilda (Wood) Banks, wife of the late Donald Banks, occurred on Saturday December 30, 2006 at the York Manor Nursing Home. Born in Wood Point, NB she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Brown) Wood. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Christina is survived by two sons, Michael (Joanne) Banks of Swan Hill, AB and Greg (Helen) Banks of Royal Road, NB; one daughter, Debbie Sandwith (Royden) of Royal Road, NB; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Ethel Wood of Moncton, NB; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Christina was predeceased by grandson, Corey Sandwith; great-granddaughter, Jessica Banks; six brothers, Eddy, Rupert, Roy, Beverly, Charlie and Earl; three sisters, Blanche Wood, Lillian Rich and Harriet Pratt. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Monday from 7 to 9 pm followed by visitation at Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2006 at 2:30 pm from Jones Funeral Home with Pastor Ryan Skaling officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Vincent and Peter Banks, Ben and Jeffrey Sandwith, Peter and John Wood. Interment will take place in the Westcox Cemetery, Sackville, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Cancer Research Society would be appreciated by the family.
