SMITH, Christina Barbara (Kohlman)January 5, 1932 to January 7, 2017Christina was born the 5th of 8 children to Adam and Mary Kohlman (Zieger) on the family farm near Fusilier, SK. She attended school at Warcup District School. After completing her studies there, she worked as an aide at the Kerrobert, SK, Hospital for several years. In the fall of 1953, she and 3 of her friends decided to go on an adventure to the big City of Calgary. There she met her future husband and they married 1 year later, spending the next 62 and a half years together. She was always busy. In addition to raising her family, she worked as an aide at a retirement home, office receptionist, restaurateur and nanny. She loved bowling and the outdoors, camping, boating and cross country skiing. Christina was predeceased by her parents, sisters Katherin (Leo) Kessler, Annie (Mike) Stang, Elsie (Gary) O''Keefe and brother August (Toni) Kohlman. Surviving siblings include sister Caroline (August) Sieben and brothers Alexander (Eleanor) and Gabriel (Loretta) Kohlman. She is survived by the love of her life, Donald and children Edward (Cheryl), Linda (Dale) and David (Glenda) as well as six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Service is at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul''s Catholic Church, 1305 Main Street S., Airdrie. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Columbarium, 1307 14 Street SW, Calgary. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
