Obituary of Chester-F. Smith


COLONIE Chester (Chet) Fulton Smith, age 92, entered into eternal life Sunday, February 22, 2004. Born in Rensselaer, he was a lifelong area resident. A graduate of RPI, he was an Engineer for Niagara Mohawk. He was a communicant of the Church of St. Francis deSales. Son of the late Arthur and Caroline Miller Smith. Husband of Maria (Ann) Morrell Cerone Smith and the late Carolyn Smith; father of Richard Smith (Carol) of Michigan and Joan B. Smith of Buffalo; also survived by four grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Chet is also survived by his extended family Frances Cerone, Ann Marie and Richard Carey and Theresa Kelly, and their families. Funeral services will be held in the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, 8 Dudley Heights, Albany (opposite the Philip Livingston School on Northern Blvd.) Wednesday morning at 9:45 and 10:15 o'clock at the Church of St. Francis deSales, Exchange Street, West Albany. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may also call at the funeral home Tuesday 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Those desiring may send a remembrance in Chet's name to St. Francis deSales' Memorial Fund, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville, NY 12211.
