Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009 from the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home, with Reverend Victor Hodge officiating. Mrs. Carter died August 16, 2009 at her residence in Bells, TN. She was born in Germany, daughter of the late James R. Dodds and Doris Brooks Medlin who survives. Mrs. Carter was a secretary in the construction department of the Tennessee Department of Transportation. She was a member of Campbell Street Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, David N. Carter of Jackson, TN; two sons, Brooks Tyree and wife Tracie of Nashville, TN, and Evan Lewis Stewart of Jackson, TN; two daughters, Amy Lynne Stewart and grandson, Benjamin Steven Davis, both of Jackson, TN and Sara Jordan Carter of Jackson, TN; a step-son, Nathan Carter of Jackson, TN; her mother, Mrs. Doris Medlin of Nashville, TN; three sisters, Karel Anne Divilbiss of Clarksdale, MI, Bobbie Gail Eubanks of Bells, TN and Jeanie Farrar of Jackson, TN and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Any memorials may be directed to the Jackson Humane Society. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. LAWRENCE-SORENSEN FUNERAL HOME, (731) 424-2424.
