Charlotte-Beasley Davis, born in 1921, spouse of Richard Davis, died on July 13, 2009. Please consult the obituary here:
DAVIS Charlotte Beasley Davis entered into glory on Monday July 13, 2009, from the Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring. Charlotte was born in Savageville, Accomack County on the eastern shore of Virginia on October 15, 1921, to Howard Henry Harmon and Bertha Turner Beasley. Norfolk Virginia was home to Charlotte and her husband, Richard, as they raised their son and daughter. Those days were a time of children playing outside without fear and neighbors sitting on their front porches visiting. Charlotte learned to sew in school and made the majority of her children's clothing. Afghans and crocheted doilies adorned her home, which was spotless. If you had known her you would know she was a sweet natured and kind person, someone who had a daily and personal knowledge of her Lord Jesus Christ. Charlotte was an active member of Lake Shore Baptist Church for more than 20 years. She loved her church family and counted them as a blessing to her. We thank them, and all her friends and neighbors for their love, care and prayers over the years. May God bless them all. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Richard E. Davis. Survivors include: son Harry Davis and wife Leona, daughter Susan McCrory and husband Jack. Grandchildren: Carole Soots and fiancŽ Steve VeZain, Dee Parker and husband Jason, Justin Burke and Jamie. Great-grandchildren: Connor Rambo, Devan Parker, Kyle Parker, Davis Soots, Josie Lynn Burke and Olivia Katherine Parker. Special Angel, Lois Wilkins. A memorial service will be held at Lake Shore Baptist Church, 2363 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32210 at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 18. Pastor Steven L. Mouzon, officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Charlotte to: N.E. Florida Community Hospice in thanksgiving for their compassionate care or to Lake Shore Baptist Church in memory of Charlotte B. Davis..
