Charles Wilburn Parker, 79, of Clayton passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at Mountain View Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mr. Parker was born in Hall County, the son of the late Harrison Parker and Lula McKinney Parker. Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Mary Parker of Mountain City; two daughters, Donna Speed and husband Boyce Speed of Tiger and Carol J. Parker of Mountain City; one granddaughter, Wendy Mullis and husband Travis Mullis of Cleveland; three great-grandchildren, Chaz Mullis, Maddie Mullis and Jared Mullis of Cleveland; and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Beck Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Houston officiating. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, in the Murrayville Assembly of God Cemetery. Beck Funeral Home in Clayton is in charge of the arrangements.
