ObituaryCharles W. Anderson, 86, of Peoria, Illinois, died March 8, at his home. The son of Nella (Elsasser) and Charles Anderson, he was born in Peora on November 28, 1917. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Geraldine. Also surviving is one sister, Marion L. Jackson of Columbus, Ohio; a cousin, two nieces, a nephew, two stepsons, a stepdaughter; seven grandchildren and four great grand-children. A native of Peoria, he graduated from Bradley Polytechnic Institute in June 1939. He was a member of Sigma Chi. He joined the Bemis Company, Inc., in 1941 and worked in sales until his retirement in 1982. After his retirement, he and wife spent winters in Ft. Myers Beach, where he was an active member of their community at Port Carlos Cove, serving on the community board for 9 years. He was also an affiliate member of Chapel by the Sea. He loved music, American history, books, and was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs. He also was a lifelong collector of autographed photos and letters from famous people. A memorial service was held in Peoria.
