Charles W. Anderson, who died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange, will be inurned at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, at a later date. Mr. Anderson was born in Ellwood City, Pa., and moved to Port Orange in 1983 from Williamstown, W.Va. He retired as manager of the decorating depart-ment for Fenton Art Glass in West Virginia. Mr. Anderson served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he served in the 161st Station Hospital as a T4. He served in New Guinnea, Philippines, and Japan. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Bronze Star, Good Conduct Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, and the Philippines Liberation Medal. He attended United Presbyterian Church, Daytona Beach, and American Legion, Post #361. He enjoyed golfing, stained glass and sailing. Mr. Anderson is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Ellen; and daughter, April Rae Anderson, Port Orange. The family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129 or the charity of one's choice.
