He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Williams Perdue, sister and brother-in-law Frances and Jack Hand, and brother-in-law William E. Bailey. Tommy lived a life of service to his family and community. From 1951-1955, Tommy served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked for and retired from the Department of Defense as an industrial security inspector after 28 years of service. Tommy was a mem-ber of the city of Niceville's Planning Board from 1987 to 2004. He served as a trustee at First Baptist Church of Valparaiso and was a beloved men's Sunday school teacher there. The family wishes to express their gratitude to his church family at First Baptist Church Valparaiso, and the extended church family at New Hope Baptist Church in Valparaiso for their many expressions of love throughout his ordeal. The compassion of his physicians, espe-cially Dr. Ann Gwinnup, was especially helpful throughout his struggle with cancer.
