Charles Pettis, age 85 of Monroe, GA, passed away September 22, 2010. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 3 PM in the Monroe Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Minister Hal Tapp officiating. Interment was on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 1 PM CST at Marshall Memorial Gardens in Albertville, AL. Mr. Pettis was a retired mechanic of 15 years for Walton EMC. He attended Cornerstone Christian Church in Statham, GA and was a US Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his children: Ricky Eugene Pettis of El Paso, TX, Patricia Ann Carver of Dallas, GA, Peggy Jean Alfieri of Coral Springs, FL, Joy Marie Landaverde of Marietta, GA, Joe Edward Pettis of Monroe, GA, Charles Lee Pettis of Lawrenceville, GA, Rita Faye Peters of Auburn, GA, Jerry Wayne Pettis of Monroe, GA; 24 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
