Charles Morse Lee (1915-2011) TAOS, NM-- C.M. Lee died peacefully on October 21, 2011, at his home in Taos, NM, surrounded by the loving family of his devoted wife, Kathleen (Woodall) Lee. Born in Beverly, MA, Lee attended Tufts University before making a career as an engineer. During World War II he worked on a key element in guided missile technology at M.I.T. After the war, he was hired by W.R. Grace and Co. From the 1950s until his retirement in 1980, Lee was employed as senior design engineer by the Cryovac Division on the Grace Co. in Duncan, SC. Lee's first wife, Mary (Henderson) Lee of Ipswich, MA, died in 1991. In 1997 Charles married his second wife, Kathleen Murrill Lee in Tryon, NC. The Lees made their way to Taos after five years in Florida. He was predeceased by his eldest son, Charles H. Lee, in 2006. C.M. Lee is survived by three children, Nancy Lee of New York City, Barbara Cedarvall of Green Creek, NC, and Edward M. Lee of Japan; two grandchildren, Josh and Jeremy; and two great-grandchildren, in addition to the extensive Woodall family. In Taos, Mrs. Lee's family includes William Woodall, David Woodall, Katie Woodall, Pat Woodall, their families, children and grandchildren. Ms. Lee's other son, Mike Woodall, resides in Decatur, GA. Services will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church in Taos, NM. Charlie's strength and gentle smile will be missed by all who knew him.
