<!-- FH = Richard Boles Funeral Service, Laurinburg, N.C. -->CHARLES EDWARD LUCASABERDEEN, N.C. - Mr. Charles Edward Lucas, 84, of Aberdeen, N.C., departed this life March 8, 2012.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Ives Memorial Baptist Church in Pinebluff, N.C. with burial in Bethesda Cemetery in Aberdeen, N.C.Charles was born on May 6, 1927 in Harnett County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Lee Washington Lucas and Annie Salmon Lucas and the beloved husband to the late Susan Lorrain Stone Lucas. He worked in manufacturing with the Proctor Silex Company retiring as supervisor after many years of dedicated service. He served as a member of Ives Memorial Baptist Church and cared for the grounds at Bethesda Cemetery. He enjoyed New York Yankees Baseball, spending time outdoors and fishing. Charles loved talking to people and especially spending time with his family.In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Mack Lucas and sister-in-law, Ann Lucas.Mr. Lucas is survived by his daughters, Becky Lucas McNeill and husband, Paul McNeill, of Pinebluff, N.C., Sandra Lucas Carpenter and husband, Steve Carpenter, of Asheville, N.C.; five grandchildren, eleven and great grandchildren.Services entrusted to Richard Boles Funeral Service, Laurinburg, N.C.
