HARRINGTON - Charles "Charlie" L. Parker, 49, passed away Jan. 12, 2008, at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, after a year-long battle with complications stemming from leukemia, including a bone marrow transplant. He was born Feb. 12, 1958, in Jonesport, the son of Barbara (Seavey) Parker and the late George W. Parker. Charlie was very proud of his work as a teacher, having spent time as a science teacher at Narraguagus High School and later as a math teacher at Washington Academy. He was an active member of Narraguagus Lodge No. 88 AF & AM. Charlie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially with his new grandbaby. He loved barbecuing, spending time on the computer and at camp, and having lively debates with good friends. He is survived by his loving wife and partner of 24 years, Della (Carter) Parker; sons, Jeremy R. Parker of Orono and Kyle A. Parker and companion, Samantha Mitchell, and their son, Nathan, all of Harrington; mother, Barbara S. Parker of Cherryfield; siblings, Donald H. Parker and wife, Lucille, of Machiasport, Dana L. Parker and companion, Kim Bagley, of East Machias, Cindy V. Groder and husband, Kenneth "Chip" of Derry, N.H., and Angel Wescott and husband, Joel, of Gouldsboro; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Glendon and Hazel Carter; brother-in-law, Brent Carter and wife, Valerie, and their family, of Harrington; sister-in-law, Mileah Brown and husband, Kevin, of Mapleton; several nieces, nephews and fellow teacher at Washington Academy, Pete Rensema. He will be deeply missed by fellow Masonic brothers. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Milbridge. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Cherryfield Elementary School officiated by Kenneth Groder. Burial will be private. www.bragdonkelley.com
