<br> -->Charles "Doc" L. Henderson DENVER, CO-- Charles Lafayette Henderson, 91, a recent resident of Denver, CO, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2007, at Denver Hospice Care Center in Aurora, CO. Born May 17, 1916, in Laurens County, SC, he was the son of the late James and Carrie Redden Henderson. He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army 1934-1940, lived and worked in Colombia, South America, and later served in the U.S. Corps of Army Engineers in the Panama Canal Zone 1940-1974. He played a major role in helping to build the capital city of Brasilia, Brazil, during the 1960's. Mr. Henderson was a former employee of Security Forces, Milliken Corporation, Spartanburg, from 1976 until his retirement in 1982. He was the husband of Helen Henderson of Roebuck, and most recently of Denver, CO; the loving father of Mary Carmen Wilkins (Monte) of Cowpens; beloved grandfather of Melissa Taylor Ford (Rodney) of Inman, and Carmen Nicole Wilkins of Cowpens; beloved step-father of Maxine S. Appleby and Karen S. Champion (Wes); and the step-grandfather of James Appleby, Melissa and Michael Champion. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary; brothers, Johnny, Grady, James, and Roscoe (Jones); and sisters, Frances, Helen, Alma, and Lila. Charles was a loving, kind, and generous man to all and deeply devoted to his family. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, November 9, 2007, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 10, 2007, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Joe Burnett.
