Charles "Shorty" Jordan, 74, of Simpsonville, husband of the late Lola Mae Jordan, died Friday, August 14, 2009. Mr. Jordan retired from the City of Simpsonville and attended Pine Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by his five daughters, Geraldine Bowen, Sara Powell, Jewell (John) Garst, Wanda (Terry) Rogers and Vickie (Edgar) Gillespie; a son, Ronnie Redding; 14 grandchildren and many great-grand and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is a special friend, Pauline Cox; and caregiver, Nancy Penningston. He was predeceased by a son, Dennis Redding. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 18, 2009, 6-7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.The funeral service will be Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home, with burial following at Greenville Memorial Gardens.The family is at the residence.
