CHARLES "CHUCK"JENNINGS, 61US Postal Service LAKELAND - Charles "Chuck" Jennings age 61 of Lakeland, FL went home to his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at his home. The cause of death is pending. He retired as postal clerk after 35 years having received numerous service awards for his dedicated service. He was a Navy veteran who served for 4 years during the Vietnam conflict, often during combat operations and under hazardous conditions. For that service he received several commendations, citations and a medal. Chuck was born in Haines City, FL on November 26, 1948 to Charles Raymond Jennings and Vera Mae (Mathews) Jennings. He was married to Jeanette (Scafidi) Jennings for 34 years. He was a lifelong member of Eastside Baptist Church in Haines City and recently rededicated. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jeanette and their dog Angelo, his parents, Charles and Vera Mae Jennings of Haines City FL, sister Charlene Bunch, Lake Wales FL, brothers William "Bill" Jennings, Winter Haven FL, and John Jennings of Gadsden AL, 8 nieces and nephews, and their 8 children. Visitation at 1:00 pm, Service at 2:00 pm on Monday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, followed by dinner at East Side Baptist Church, Haines City FL.
