Charles-H. Lee, born in 1927, spouse of Barbara-Ann-Reynolds Lee, father of Jenny Carol, Donna Sue, Charles Steven and Kenneth Eugene, died on May 30, 2010 at 82 years old.
Funeral service for Charles H. Lee (Coach), 82, of Dadeville, will be Sunday, May 30, 2010, at 4 p.m. at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Wiggins officiating. Entombment will follow in the Hillview Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at Radney Funeral Home. Coach Lee passed away on Friday, May 28, 2010, at Trinity Medical Center. Although death is always a sad time, this is primarily a time for celebration of a life well lived, a release from a body damaged by Alzheimer's, and a chance for his soul to join his God and Savior. He was born on September 27, 1927 in Lee County, Alabama to Olin Eugene Lee and Essie Clyde Freeman Bailey. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dadeville. He obtained a BS from Auburn University, his Masters from University of Alabama and AA from University of Middle Tennessee. Coach Lee was a teacher and coach in Reeltown and Alexander City and retired as Principal of Lineville High School. He was past President of the Exchange Club in Clay County. He enjoyed coaching, especially wrestling and while at BRHS received 11 state championships. He was inducted in the Alabama Coaches Hall of Fame. He loved to travel, having been to nine different countries and enjoyed cruises and bus trips. Coach Lee loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed family gatherings, especially birthday's. He enjoyed gardening and loved dogs. His favorite was Rudy. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in World War II. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Ann Reynolds Lee, of Dadeville; daughters, Jenny Carol Hall (Thomas), of Dadeville and Donna Sue Wilson, of Vestavia; sons, Charles Steven Lee (Jennifer), of New Site and Kenneth Eugene Lee (Selina), of Oxford; grandchildren, Tom Hall (Lainie), of Decatur, Koren Lee, of Calera, Dr. Lee Ann Wilson, of Birmingham, Megan Wilson, of Birmingham, Eric Lee, of Oxford and Hunter Lee, of Oxford; great-grandchildren, Will Hall, Rebecca Jane Hall and Jackson Hall, all of Decatur; sister, Martha Van Stanford (Royce), of Bryant, Ark.; sister-in-law, Juanita R. Richey (Wayne) of Greenwood, S.C. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Eugenia DeLamar and brother, Joe Lee.
