Charles died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Evergreen Health Care Center in Stafford Springs, CT. He was born on December 22, 1937 in Sharon, CT. He was the son of the late Alberta Hall Duncan- Johnson and Julius Johnson.Mr. Johnson was formerly employed at Capital Bakery, Wassaic Developmental Center and Ford Motor Company of Mahwah, NJ.Charles and Trudy Croppley Johnson were married in 1997.Left to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife Trudy Johnson of the home; children: Greg C. Collins of Poughkeepsie, NY, Dion Collins of Syracuse, NY, Gail Collins of Poughkeepsie, NY, Lael Collins of Albany, NY, Paul Collins of San Jose, CA. Diane C. Collins of Oakland, CA, and Dean A. Collins of Newport News, VA; brothers, Curtis Johnson of Poughkeepsie, NY, Jerry Duncan of Staatsburg, NY, and Edward Johnson of CA.; sisters, Nancy Twyman of Poughkeepsie, NY and Julia Mae Douglas of New Haven, CT. 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.Charles was predeceased by two brothers Julius Johnson and Richard L. "Dickie" Johnson and two sisters, Ruth Henry and Joyce Johnson.Mr. Johnson will lie in repose 10am-11am Monday, July 8, 2013 at Rhodes Funeral Homes Chapel 43 Fairview Avenue Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
