Charles Edward Bryant, 80, of Lawrenceburg, husband of the late Waldene Cotton Bryant, died Thursday, April 4, 2013, at the home of his daughter, Lisa Cole.He was born in Anderson County to the late Winfred and Mary Hazel Cummins Bryant. He was a retired mail carrier for the US Postal Service for 30 years. Charlie was a pillar of Anderson County in sports. He was a referee and umpire of Little League Football; a member of the Chain-Gang at Anderson County High School Football; and an umpire of softball at the Alton Ruritan Club; a KY Colonel; and an Army veteran during the Korean War.He is survived by three daughters, Janice Bryant, Frankfort, Lisa Cole (Gary), Joy Denise Thompson, both of Lawrenceburg; a stepdaughter, Vicki Shouse Cummins (Mike), Frankfort; a special grandson, Jamie "Bubba" Cole (Rachel), other grandchildren, Joy Maria Torres, Jonathan C. Cole (Shannon), Joshua Thompson, step grandchildren, Jeremy Wooldridge (Emily), Jessica Lopez (Horacie), Jade N. Shouse, and Corey Shouse; seven great-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Sherwood Hyatt (William "Bub"), Patricia Sutton Aldridge (Floyd), Lawrenceburg; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Marvin "Pee Wee" Robinson.He was also preceded in death by a stepson, Jeffrey Neal Shouse, a sister, Connie Jo Durr, and a brother, Earl "Buddy" Bryant.Funeral services were held April 8 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Noal Cotton Jr. officiating. Burial followed in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601.Casketbearers were Steve Barriger, Larry Barnett, Larry Basham, Anthony Hatchell, Gary Lawson and Rex Riley. Honorary bearers were Larry Young, Cory Quisenberry, Joe Smith, Mark Bryant, J.N. Coffey and LaRue Ruble.
