ELLSWORTH - Charles D. "Bud" Lee, 67, died Jan. 14, 2009, at an Ellsworth hospital, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born Aug. 14, 1941, in Lynn, Mass., the son of Donald H. and Myrtle (Esty) Lee. Bud graduated from Lynn English High School in 1959. He was a master electrician and founded Bud Lee Electric in 1975, which is currently owned and operated by his son, Donny, in Sullivan. Bud served as a reserve police officer for Ellsworth for 17 years and served as a deputy for Hancock County for a number of years. At one time, he was co-owner of Bud's Place, where he enjoyed listening to many different bands on Saturday nights. Bud enjoyed four-wheeling, motorcycling, hunting and fishing, but his favorite time was spent with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed the many trips to Florida he and Dag made in the winter, where he enjoyed playing bocce with his friends in C21. He was the holder of the Degree of Chevalier Award from Lynn Chapter of DeMolay, Lynn, Mass.; member of Lygonia AF & AM, Ellsworth; and Anah Temple, Bangor. He was a member of Family Bible Church, Ellsworth. Bud is survived by his father, Donald H.; his wife of 46 years, Dag; son, Donny and wife, Corinne; daughter, Sherie; grandchildren, Taylor, Toya, Connor, Elena and Cassidy; brother, George A. and his friend, Journey; and extended family members, as well as many friends. He was predeceased by his mother. At Bud's request there will be no funeral service, but a service of remembrance will be held 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at Family Bible Church, Ellsworth. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Bud's memory be made to Family Bible Church, 460 High St., Ellsworth, ME 04605. Arrangements by Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Condolences may be expressed at www.jordanfernald.com. Be at peace Bud, as you are now where there is no more pain.
