MOORE, Charles Cyril 1920 - 2008 Charlie passed away peacefully on October 16, 2008 at the age of 88 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his former wife Frances Moore (nee Berg); Ken (Verla) Carter, Sheila (Terry) Gaw, and Bill (Denise) Moore; grandchildren Brian, Kathryn, Kira, Liam, Lindsay, Roger and Sarah; as well as many other beloved family members both in Canada and the UK. He is predeceased by his parents Willie and Leah; brothers Leslie (Lucy) and Norman (Molly). Charlie was born on September 12, 1920 in Oxton, Birkenhead, England. He served his country during WWII in the Burma Campaign under the Indian XV Corps (the three V's). After Charlie immigrated to Canada he secured numerous jobs but ultimately settled on a fulfilling career in telecommunications with Alberta Government Telephones (AGT). Charlie loved music, literature and sports. His passion for sports was evident throughout his life but most notably for the Calgary Flames. Dad especially cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren.
