Birmingham<!--Birmingham-->Funeral for Charles Clayton Parker, 82, formerly of Decatur, will be Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mr. Parker, who died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at St. Vincent&#8217;s East Medical Center, was born Sept. 16, 1924, in Kentucky to Oscar Parker and Vina Craig Parker. He served in the U.S. Army and participated in the liberation of France during World War II. He retired from Jim Dandy Co., where he worked in quality control. His son, Anthony Parker, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Emma Long Parker; one son, Steve Parker of Birmingham; one daughter, Linda Hunt of Port Huron, Mich.; one brother, J.D. Parker of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Evelyn Winkles of Gladwin, Mich., and Chris>tine Fields of Haysi, Va.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be family and friends.
