Charles Andrew LeeFair PlayCharles A. Lee, 83, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Bud and Irene Francis Lee. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked in Textiles most of his life and owned a welding shop in Fair Play. He was a long time active member of Fair Play Presbyterian Church. He was a very active Mason with a Masonic Career including the following: he was raised as a Master Mason on January 5, 1968 in Monagham Lodge #251 in Greenville, SC. He was affiliated with Fair Play Lodge #132 in 1970, he served 3 times as Worshipful Master in 1984, 1990 and 1991, he served as Senior Deacon 12 times and he was a Plural Member of Townville Lodge #209 and Divver #349. He received Honorary Membership and a Perpetual Honorary Life Membership from the following Lodges: Monaghan #251, Fair Play #132, Townville #209, Divver #349, Seneca #185, Blue Ridge #92, Pendleton #34, and Hiram #68. In addition, he received Honorary Membership in the following Lodges: Ruff #240 and Barnett #106. He was a member of the following Appendant Bodies of Masonry: Hejaz Shriners, York Rite and AMD of Clemson. He is survived by his sister, Helen Duncan of Greenville; special long time friend, Ruth Neil of Fair Play; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Jefferson.A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Fair Play Presbyterian Church with Masonic Rites.
