Charles Anderson of Monsey died on December 18, 2003 at Ramapo Manor Nursing Center. He was 76. Born on November 18, 1927 in Andersonville, Virginia to the late Herbert Greenway and Alma Virginia Abernathy Anderson. Charles graduated Buckingham Central High School in 1944 and then went on to Virginia Poly Tech Institute graduating in 1946 when he went into the service serving his country proudly from 1946-1947. On August 6, 1967, he married Florence Johnson in Ramsey, NJ. Charles was a retired Metal Technician for MRC in Orangeburg for over 27 years. He was a member of the Tappan Zee Barber Shop Chorus and the Hudson Valley Antique Club. Survivors include his devoted wife, Florence of Monsey; loving daughters: Susanne Denise Nolan of Monroe and Charlene Ruth and her husband, Ralph Reyes of Stony Point; one dear brother, Dr. Powell Anderson of Dillwin, VA; and one dear sister, Martha Rollings of Dendron, VA; two cherished grandchildren: J.T. and Nicholas Nolan. He was predeceased by his stepmother, Vida Anderson. The family will be present to receive friends on Sunday, December 21, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Wanamaker & Carlough, 177 Rt. 59, Suffern. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2003 at 10:30 am at the Funeral Home with Reverend Mitchell Dillon officiating. Burial will be in Airmont Lutheran Cemetery.
