->Charles A. AndersonWAPPINGERS FALLS- Charles A. Anderson of Wappingers Falls passed away peacefully on February 8, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 80. Born on November 13, 1930 in Newburgh to the late Charles S. and Margaret E. Hurley Anderson. Charles grew up in East Hook, and graduated from Wappingers Central Schools in 1949. He went into the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. After the war he went to work for Central Hudson where he worked for 39 years until his retirement in 1992. On August 23, 1953 in St. Mary's Church he married Alice Medeck. He was an avid horticulturist , and reader, camper and loved bird watching. He was the Commander for the Fishkill VFW Post 1286 and one of the original members of the Knights of Columbus at St. Mary's in Fishkill. Survivors include his devoted wife Alice, Loving Children Diane McGayhey and her husband David of Poughkeepsie, Timothy Anderson of Springfield MA, and Neil Anderson of Cape Cod, MA. One Cherished grandson Nicholas J. Anderson, Dear brothers James F Anderson and his wife Marie, Robert Anderson and his wife Elaine, and David Anderson and his wife Linda. He was predeceased by his daughter Carol E. Anderson , and his 2 brothers Harry and Leonard Anderson. Friends may call on Friday February 11, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home 1028 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 12, 2011 at 10am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, Fishkill.
