CECILE COLLIN On April 7, 2011, Cecile Collin (nee Boutin) of Saskatoon passed away at the age 101. She is also survived by her brother, Herve Boutin; numerous nieces and nephews and her close friend Maggie Mann. She was predeceased by her parents, JeanBaptiste and Louisa (Desy) Boutin; husband of fifty-three years Laurent; her son, Denis; and her daughter, Odile Daku; sisters, Yvette Boutin and Therese Chabot and brothers, Roland and Bob Boutin. Cecile was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA on August 8, 1909. She immigrated with her family to St Victor, SK in 1917 at the age of nine. She attended Normal School in Regina thanks to the financial and moral support of her aunt and uncle Ida and Emile Longchamps. She was always quick to express her gratitude and wanted all to know of their generosity. She taught in one room schools throughout south-western Saskatchewan from 1930 to 1937, an experience which affected her for the rest of her life. In 1937, she married Laurent Collin who worked for Family Life Assurance Co. They continued to live in St. Victor and raise a family. Later on, she also worked for the insurance company. After her husband's death in 1990, she relocated in Assiniboia. In 2002 she moved to Saskatoon. She enjoyed community involvement and the great game of bridge. Through these activities she made many friends. In spite of her failing eyesight, she continued to play bridge at St Anne's Residence until shortly before her death. Her family extends their special thanks to Dr Larson for his compassionate care. The Vigil for Cecile will be held on Monday, April 11th, at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 12th, at 11:00 a.m. Both services held at St. Ann's Chapel (2910 Louise Street). Cremation Rite of Committal will be held in St Victor at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Anne's Senior Citizens Village Corp. in her memory. Arrangements in care of David Polzen MOURNING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICES (978-5200). www.mourningglory.ca
