Obituary of Cecile-Anne Williams


PALATKA, Fla. Cecile Anne Messier Williams, 78, of Palatka and previously of Cohoes, died Monday, July 24, 2006 at the Palatka, Fla. Hospital, embraced by her loving daughter. Born in Waterford, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Rose Riberty Messier Sr. and devoted wife of the late Russell Williams, who died in 1993. Cecile was a 1947 graduate of Catholic Central High, Troy and retired as a food server at the Van Schaick School in Cohoes in 1989. Cecile is survived by her three daughters, Elizabeth Shappy, her loving caregiver of Palatka, Patricia Hinman and her husband Gerald Jr. of Grafton, N.Y. and Nancy Dorrough of Clifton Park, N.Y.; her adored grandchildren, Jodi Dorrough, Denise and Patrick Mohr; her sisters, Laurette Vautrin of Waterford and Helen Rifenburgh of Cohoes; brothers, Eugene Messier Jr. of Waterford and Albert Messier of Vt. She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Messier. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd., 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes Friday morning 10:00 o'clock; Mass of Christian Burial, St. Bernard's Church, Cohoes 10:30. Interment, Waterford Rural Cemetery, Waterford, N.Y. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Friday morning 8:30 to 10:00.
