OKEECHOBEE - Cecil Edward Jordan, of Okeechobee, Fla. passed away on Oct. 20, 2013, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, Fort Pierce, Fla. He has lived in Okeechobee for 10 years coming from Hollywood, Fla. Mr. Jordan was a U.S. Army veteran. He was also a member of the American Legion and the IBW Union for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf. Cecil is survived by his wife of 40 years, Betty Jo Jordan; of Okeechobee, Fla.; daughter, Pedie Dickerhoof; and son; Darren Duke, both of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; brother, Henry "Chop" Jordan of N.C.; and sister, Frances (Whitey) Propst of N.C.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 28 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Thursday Oct. 24, 2013 at Treasure Island Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Nida officiating.
