-><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Fleming, Catherine V.Unadilla: Catherine V. Fleming, 99, of Unadilla passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Elizabeth Church Manor in Binghamton. She was born August 21, 1914 in Albany, NY the daughter of Lewis and Christina (Underwood) Fleming. Catherine lived in Albany until she was five years old when her family moved to live with her Grandmother Underwood between Otego and Wells Bridge. She attended school in Otego until 1929 when her family moved to Oneonta and she completed school and graduated from Oneonta High School. Catherine always wanted to be a teacher and attended and graduated from Oneonta Normal School, Albany State Teachers College and Syracuse University. During her teaching career she taught in Roxbury Central School and Binghamton Central High School. She lived in Roxbury and Binghamton during that time and later retired to Sand Hill Rd. in Unadilla township. She was active in the Wells Bridge Baptist Church and its Bible Class, the Wells Bridge Senior Citizens and was a member of the Otsego Senior Citizen Council. Catherine is survived by a nephew and his wife Donald and Evelyn Fleming of Chesterfield, VA and their children Mark and Nora, and a close friend Kathleen Bennett of Chenango Bridge. She is also survived by two first cousins, Keith Harwood of Red Bank, NJ and Bruce Myers of Stratford, CT and many other cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Wells Bridge Baptist Church, Wells Bridge. Rev. David Steensma will officiate. There will be no calling hours. The family wishes to thank the Staff of Elizabeth Church Manor in Binghamton for the wonderful care they gave to Catherine. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Wells Bridge Baptist Church, P.O. Box 100, Wells Bridge, NY 13859 in memory of Catherine Fleming. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Westcott Funeral Home Inc. of Unadilla.
