Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Catherine Virginia Davis, 87, Holly Hill, who passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at Halifax Medical Center, will be Tuesday, Dec-ember 18, at 9 a.m. at St. Paul's Basilica, 317 Mullally St., Daytona Beach, with Father Tim Daly officiating. Family will receive friends Monday, December 17, at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a wake service beginning at 8 p.m. with Deacon Vernon Hart of St. Paul's. Mrs. Davis was born in Baltimore, Md., to the late James and Alverta Culley. Catherine, a retired cosmetologist, moved to this area in 1975 with her husband, William, from Pasadena, Md. Mrs. Davis enjoyed volunteering at her church, St. Paul's and Halifax Urban Ministries. Predeceased by her husband, Mrs. Davis is survived by her son, Gary (Claudette) Davis, Ormond Beach; two daughters, Barbara Prihoda, Glen Burnie, Md., Victoria Reese, Daytona Beach; three grandchildren, David (Connie) Davis, Ormond Beach, Richard (Karina) Davis, Carrollton, Texas, and Kelly Prihoda, Pikesville, Md.; four great-grandchildren, Sarah, Emma, Daniel and Matthew Davis; and many relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
