Catherine T. (Greene) Howard of Scituate died July 2, after a very brief illness. Catherine was the devoted wife of Richard F. Howard for 68 years. She leaves two daughters, Eileen Farraher of Scituate and Diane McCarthy and her husband John of Scituate; and was the loving grandmother to Katie and Michael Farraher, Christopher McCarthy and Ryan McCarthy and his wife Adele. She was the daughter of the late Vincent and Catherine (Callaghan) Greene. Catherine was born and raised in Melrose and was a 1940 graduate of Melrose High School. She was a 1942 graduate of Malden Business School, where she met her husband Dick. She was a past president of the Malden Police Wives Association and a bookkeeper for the First National stores for 15 years. Visiting hours were held Sunday, July 7, from 4-7 p.m. at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd., Scituate. Funeral Mass Monday, July 8, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate Harbor, followed by burial at St. Marys Cemetery.
