->McKenna, CatherineCatherine McKenna of Orangeburg, NY passed away on May 30, 2013. She was born on June 8, 1932 in New York City to Francis and Catherine Keegan. She married the love of her life, John, in 1956. Together they bought a home in Orangeburg where they built their life and raised their family. Cat was the original "stay at home mom" of five children. She was a proud grandmother, affectionately known as "Nanny" by all nine of her grandchildren. Whether playing in the pool, making grilled cheese or playing Uno, she was the most wonderful Nanny to all of her grandchildren.Cat will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 57 years, John, her brother Jack, her loving children, Joann Pierce (Ken), Sue-Ellen Matcovich (Charles), Kelly Zabel (Richard), John McKenna (Dina) and Maureen Schroder (Kurt). She will be missed more than words can say by her adoring grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Jamie, Alyssa, Richard, John, Anthony, Hayley and Kurt.Cat is predeceased by her parents, Francis and Catherine Keegan, her brothers, Frank, Thomas, Joseph and her sister, Margaret. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Her favorite times were the times spent with family and friends, especially in her backyard. You were never a stranger in Cat's home. "Can I get you something dear" was the first thing she said after you entered her home. Within minutes, laughter would fill the house and you would become part of the family.Visitation will be held at Hannemann Funeral Home, 88 South Broadway, Nyack, NY on Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Catharine's Church, Blauvelt, NY on Monday, June 3 at 10:00 am.
