DELAND - Catherine Manning, 82, of South Adelle Avenue, a native of Brunswick, Ga., died Tuesday at Ridgecrest Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Manning worked as a cook. She was a member and deacon of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Arthur Bess, Brunswick, Ga., and Eddie Bess, DeLand; five daughters, Louise Baines, Queen Baker, Earline Desmau and Ruth Buggs, all of Brunswick, and Catherine Melvin, Daytona Beach; a brother, James, Augusta, Ga.; three sisters, Mable Gibbs and Lola Drayton, both of Brunswick, and Elnora Drayton, Massachusetts; 21 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren. Mack is in charge.
