Obituary of Catherine-Lucille-Ward Miller


Catherine Lucille Ward Miller, age 86, of 116 Ivy Drive, Simpsonville, died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at Highline Community Hospital in Seattle, Wash., while touring the Canadian Rockies with longtime friends in her church. Mrs. Miller is the daughter ofthe late Charles Edward and Myrtle Lucille Russell Ward. She was a loving grandmother, homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was the last member of her family. Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Miller Smith and husband Ed, of Mauldin; two sons, Henry Roddey "Rod" Miller Jr. and Robert C. Miller, both of Simpsonville; a special friend, Ken Frasher, of Greenville; six grandchildren, Michael C. Smith, Tasha L. White, Karen C. Smith, Timothy W. Smith, Elisa Ann Miller and Charles Brian Smith; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Miller was predeceased by her husband, Henry Roddey Miller Sr. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 8, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Simpsonville, with Pastor Stan Rupe and Pastor Walter Hanford officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland East Memorial Park. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Cannon Funeral Home, Jones Chapel. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Nancy Smith and son-in-law Ed, 105 Archdale Drive, Mauldin, SC 29662. Memorial Gardens, Gaffney.
