Mrs. Catherine A. Johnson, 80, Leighton, was born July 18, 1931, in Colbert County, Ala. Her parents were the late Al Abernathy Sr. and Madora Abernathy.She departed this life Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at Keller Landing Nursing Home, Tuscumbia, Ala.She was a member of Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America.She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Otis L. Johnson (Joyce), of Tuscumbia, Ala.; one daughter, Ella J. Butler (David), of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Dora Pearl Fulbright (Herman), of Los Angeles, Calif., and Rosie Lee Thompson, of Muscle Shoals; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Leighton, Ala., with burial in Shoals Memorial Garden, Tuscumbia, Ala. Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, directing. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.
