CATHERINE ELIZABETH HARRIS Catherine Elizabeth Harris died at the age of 91 on October 2, 2009. She was born on December 20,1917 to William J and Ida Mae Deery in Trenton NJ. Besides her parents, She was preceded in Death by her Brother William J Deery, two Sisters, Veronica (June) Strand, and Patricia Cole, Step Daughter Jean Holly and her Husband Theodore F (Ted) Harris. She is survived by her Daughter and son-in-law Patty Harris Slaughter and Jim, Fortson, Georgia, Step Daughter Betty Kuchler, Toms River, NJ, Many Nieces and Nephews across the country. She resided in Oakhurst, NJ from 1947 to 1978, then Sebastian, FL until she moved to her daughter's in 1997. She graduated from Irvington High School, NJ and until recently enjoyed attending the High School reunions with her Brother, and Step Daughters. She served as Secretary to the Chief of Staff, Budgeting for JAG, was active in setting up an Army Civilian Personnel Office in Washington, DC. After 35 years of Civil Service, She retired , from Fort Monmouth, as an Administrative Assistant to the Patent Agency. She worked as Teacher Assistant to Sister Rose Geutler in the second grade at St Helen's School, Vero Beach, Florida. She was President of the Guild at St Sebastian Church in Sebastian, FL. She served there as Eucharistic Minister, Bible Class Instructor and on the Renew Program. By her request, there will be no funeral services. Her remains will be sent to The Medical College of Georgia, where her generosity continues in death as it did in life. Memorial donations may be made to Animal Emergency Hospital, Manchester Expressway, Columbus, Georgia 31909.
