Catherine Doris "Kay" Turner 1929-2014 Catherine Doris Turner, age 84, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Friday February 14th, 2014. Born in Midgic, she was the daughter of the late Ezra and Mary Hicks. Kay was an active member of the Midgic Baptist Church. A caring and devoted mother and grandmother, Kay enjoyed helping others as often as she could. She was also a skilled and creative knitter, quilter and painter and she was always happy to share these talents with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her husband Arthur Brae Turner and children Rosemary (Jane), Ronald (Carla) and Rodney (Darlene), daughter-in-law Donna Fillmore; brothers Donald, Winston, Hugh, Edward, and sister Bonnie (Mervyl) Thompson; as well as her much loved grandchildren Shannon (Danielle), Jordan, Logan, Jocelyn, Samantha, Katelynn and Stephanie and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son William and sisters Frances and Eunice as well as her brothers Ronald and Richard. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (506-364-1300) from where visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 6-9 pm. A funeral service for Catherine will be held on Monday at 2 pm from the funeral home. Pastor Hal Lowther officiating. Interment will be in the Sackville Cemetery in the Spring. Special thanks to Iona Crosthwaite and Charlene Richards for the exceptional care given to Kay during the past several years at home. Thanks also to the Extra-mural nursing staff.
