Catherine Darlene MacQuarrie-Varner, age 50, passed away on Sunday, May 4th 2014 at The Moncton Hospital, following an unexpected motorcycle accident. Cathy was born in Moncton and lived with an unparalleled zest for life. Spirited and determined, Cathy demonstrated integrity and strength beyond compare; touching the lives of countless individuals, particularly through her work with special-needs children as an Educational Assistant with Anglophone East School District. A devoted mom, Cathy is survived by her three children, Courtney, Heather, and Erik; along with her parents Earl and Ethel MacQuarrie; brother, David (and wife Natalie) MacQuarrie; sisters Beth MacQuarrie-Hill and Peggy McDougall (and husband Kevin); nieces and nephews, Sean, Tyler, Ryan, Kael, Max, Sam, Jessie, Mikayla and Amber; her boyfriend, Kevin Dunphy; long-time best friend, Beth (Leblanc) Toner and innumerable special friends. Cathy was a lifetime member of the United Church of Canada. Public Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be led by The Rev. Aaron Billard on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 2:00 pm at St. John’s United Church (75 Alma Street). Reception in the Church Hall following the service.
